A short escape in Germany

The weather is wonderful this August in Germany and I could enjoy it with my girls in the Mosel.

Sintra

Here they are! The photos I took at the end of May, in Sintra. Sintra is a particular place in the neighborhood of Lisbon, where the rich and powerful folks of Portugal build their summer residences. There are all kinds of castles, from the fortified one from the middle age to the royal residences from the 20th century… We spend 3 days there for a marriage on a wonderful location and spend the rest time with sight seeing. The trip this far away from Germany was really worth it, even for such a short time.

Erfurt, a bit of architecture

Oh my. Time flies and a did not take care of this blog for quite a while now. Work, family and personal life made me kind of forget to write here! But here am I. Today I would like to share a bit of Erfurt (Germany) with you. This region is known for the great forest but the city is also very attractive since the most of the ancient buildings have been renovated in the past decade. A good example is the “Augstiner Kloster”, a religious complex build around 1300 and transformed, renovated several times since this date.

Let’s go to Turkey

Finally I take the time to write here… oh joy! Today I want to share with you my impressions about my first journey to Turkey, in May of this year. A very beautiful country, if you ask me! Let’s begin our tour by an excursion to the peninsula of Bodrum. I had the chance to be there right before the touristic season begins and the weather was just like I like it the most: 25 degree C and sunny.

Tropical feeling in Münster

I had a dream: it was summer in Münster, Germany. But this dream seems not to be realizable so I went where I know it is always 28 degree C and 70% humidity: the tropical pavilion of the botanical garden!

Garden show in Schmalkalden

 

I went to a garden show this week-end: a lot of tulips, fresh spring blossoms and nice weather… Let me show you the castle of Schmalkalden (see map as last picture)!

USS Constitution in the harbor of Boston

The USS Constitution is one of the first ships of the US army. It has been renovated several times and one can admire it in the harbor of Boston. To find it, just follow the freedom trail, this line drawn on the streets to guide tourists in the town.
