I always associated balloons with kids birthdays, advertisement actions or wedding parties. But some artists like Rie Hosokai reinvent this object and use it for creating art pieces and fashion wear. Björk herself wore one dress made of balloons, created by “Daisy Balloon” (i.e. Rie Hosokai) at the Fuji Rock festival 2013. If you take a look at the website of this artist, you will never see balloons the same again!
