Today is the second sunday of december. German name it “Zweiter Advent” and we can light up the second candle of the advent wreath. My boyfriend has a really original advent wreath: the candle light is reflected in glass plates that you add every sunday.
Third advent :
In the background of the previous pictures, you can see my first “Plätzchen”, the german christmas cakes. They are to find in every german household! So I tried it. I wanted to rock it with pastry cutters from Ikea to make 3D shapes. But I did not know that they are several recopies and sorts of Plätzchen. Some are fragile (like the ones I cooked) and some other are more like gingerbread (it is the sort I should have bake in order to obtain stable 3D shapes!).
Here is the result of my try:
1 little bag vanilla sugar
the pastry cutters from Ikea (“Snökul”)
Mix all the elements , roll the dough into a thin plate (about 0,5 cm thick) and cut the shapes. Bake for about 15 until 20 minutes at 175˚C (do not forget to turn the cakes at the mid time). Built the 3D shapes!
